William C. Burns, Jr.

William Burns, also known as Chyfrin, writes prose and poetry set in speculative fiction across a range of universes and worlds. He is a full time writer whose previous lives include being an engineer, a teacher, and a set designer.

Often noted for his fondness for ellipses, disregard for rhyme, exceptional hipster aesthetic, and fun eccentricities, William voices a unique perspective of the world and collects talents in much the way young crows collect shiny objects.

Notes of Interest.

  • Library

“The castle of imagination where the pen is mightier than the sword.”

Chyfrin’s Library may well hold a portal to another dimension. It would certainly go quite a way in explaining how all the vast tomes, journals, and artifacts contained within all manage to fit inside the walls. But most importantly, it serves the purpose of any good library—the comfort of a haven and the opportunity to exchange time for thoughts.

  • Chyfrin? Rukesayer? Technomancer? Are you just making up words to give yourself better titles?

    Well…Yeah.

  • Who’s behind all of this?

This website, Etsy shop, and branding, are the result of a collaboration between William, who brings the ephemeral arts of legend, and his daughter, Beth, who brings the love for typography and design.

Basically, we’re humans who are doing this for fun and to create cool things—not to become a lucrative business empire. As such, excessive horribleness will be immediately fed to the beast with brindled paws.
